Grievance & Refund Policy
At Hearten Counseling, we want every play therapy training experience to feel safe,
welcoming, and valuable. We do our very best to provide high-quality learning opportunities
grounded in ethics, inclusion, and care.
If something doesn’t meet your expectations — whether it’s related to course content,
logistics, or your experience with an instructor — we truly want to know. Your feedback helps
us grow and keep our trainings aligned with the heart of play therapy, APT standards.
When to Reach Out
You can reach out to us if you ever experience:
• Content that feels inaccurate, misleading, or inconsistent with play therapy standards
• Instructor behavior that feels unprofessional, biased, or inappropriate
• Issues with registration, CE credits, or accessibility
• Any other concern that affects your learning experience
✉ How to Share a Concern
1. Talk to Us First (if you feel comfortable!)
Sometimes a quick conversation with the instructor or coordinator can clear things up right
away.
2. Submit a Written Grievance
If the issue isn’t resolved or you’d prefer a formal review, please send an email within 30 days
of the training to:

Subject line: “Training Grievance”
Please include:
• Your name and contact info
• The training title and date
• A short description of what happened
Our Response:
We’ll let you know we received your email within 5 business days.
Our team will carefully review your concern and respond within 7 business days with our
findings and next steps.
Refund Policy
We understand that plans change! If you need to cancel your registration, we’ll do our best to
accommodate you.

Cancellations made at least 7 days before the training start date will receive a full refund, minus a $25 processing fee.

Cancellations received less than 7 days of the event or no-shows are nonrefundable, though you may request a training credit toward a future workshop at our discretion.

If Hearten Counseling must cancel or reschedule a training for any reason (e.g., low enrollment, instructor emergency, weather), participants will receive a full refund or transfer option.
All refund requests must be submitted in writing to:

Please include your name, the training title, and the date of the event.
